2025 Board of Governors Byelection - Student Candidates
Annabelle Lee

I am passionate about building a student-driven Ðǿմ«Ã½ where every student’s voice is valued in shaping the decisions that affect us. I believe our community thrives when students are active members of the conversation, and I am committed to ensuring that the Board of Governors responds to the needs, ideas, and concerns of its student body. This passion for representation and empowerment has guided much of my work.
I have experience with projects on varying topics of impact. These topics include quality education, economic empowerment, and sustainability. I have experience in policy change, advocacy, coordinating programs, and managing teams. At Ðǿմ«Ã½, I serve as the Ðǿմ«Ã½SU Federal Representative, where I aim to advocate for increased public education funding and expand supports for students, to make education more equitable and barrier-free.
What drives me most is helping others have a voice and creating opportunities for meaningful impact. On the Board, I would bring that same dedication to listen, to advocate, and to ensure students play an active role in shaping the future of our college.

Chelsey Simmons

Hi, my name is Chelsey, and I am a dedicated student leader and passionate advocate for Ðǿմ«Ã½ and its student community. Over the past three years, I have proudly served on the Ðǿմ«Ã½ Students’ Union (Ðǿմ«Ã½SU), where I have worked to amplify student voices, advocate for student rights, and push for initiatives that make education more affordable, such as lowering student fees. Beyond my role with the Ðǿմ«Ã½SU, I am actively involved in several campus organizations, most notably Enactus Ðǿմ«Ã½; a social entrepreneurship club that empowers students to create sustainable, community-driven businesses that address social and environmental challenges.
Through these experiences, I have developed strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, as well as a deep understanding of student needs and institutional processes. I have also gained extensive experience representing students on various boards and committees, always ensuring their concerns and perspectives are heard and considered. My top priority is to continue strengthening student representation and advocate for meaningful change which I hope to do if elected on the Education Council. Helping shape a more inclusive, equitable, and empowering environment for all students at Ðǿմ«Ã½ is my goal!
Katalin Csorba

Malachi Gossen

Malachi has been formally elected by acclamation for the Shuswap/Revelstoke region.
My name is Malachi Gossen and I am in the Associate of Science program. When I'm not studying for due assignments or tests you can find me hanging out with friends, watching movies or hockey with my family, or doing just about anything with my fiance. I am very excited for the opportunity to be a part of the education council.
I think as a student it is important to have a student voice in order to best support the students in the Ðǿմ«Ã½ community.
